We're bringing classes right to the Amsterdam community with a brand new Extension site*! Located at 27 Wall Street, Amsterdam, you can now take classes toward a Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate or a Practical Nurse (LPN) Certificate with less commute time and clinical internships closer to home!
About our programs:
Clinical Medical Assistant, Certificate Program
- Earn a Certificate in as little as 14 months.
- Opportunity to earn NHA certification in Phlebotomy, EKG, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant.
Practical Nursing (LPN) Certificate Program
- Earn a Certificate in as little as 16 months.
- Learn the skills you need to prepare for the NYCLEX-PN examination and licensure as an LPN in New York State.

*Mildred Elley operates an extension site conveniently located in Amsterdam, NY. Students cannot complete an entire degree at an extension site and must take a number of courses at the Albany campus. Administrative and academic services, such as academic advisement, financial aid, tutoring, library, and career services resources, are available remotely to students from the Albany campus. Certain on-site services may be available to students by appointment. Please reach out to the Director of Admissions for more information.
**To be eligible for CPT funding, applicants must enroll in one of 13 approved health, behavioral health, and social care career fields, meet residency and financial aid requirements, and agree to a three-year service commitment with a NYS healthcare provider serving at least 30% Medicaid patients. A degree must be completed by Spring 2027, with service commitment by 2031.
